Dear O'Gorman Junior High Families,

Happy Summer from O'Gorman Junior High School! It is hard to believe that we start school in just over a month. We anxiously await the opportunity to educate your child at OGJH.

Here are a few items that may be of benefit to you as we continue into the summer months:

• School supply lists should be available soon at all area stores. It is also available here.

• During the first week of August, you will receive our "Back-to-School Packet". This packet will include numerous items including the OGJH Back-to-School Newsletter and your child's class schedule/locker assignment.

• Our school calendar, in addition to all of our athletic schedules, is now on Bound. You can find a link to it here.

Welcome to Junior High will be held August 4-7. Parents who have signed their child up will receive separate email communication in the next couple of weeks.

August 18: 7th Grade Orientation-Early Dismissal: 12:00 Noon; No school for 8th Grade Students
August 19: All students in attendance-Early Dismissal; 12:00 Noon
August 21: OGJH Parent Open House: 6:00-7:45 PM

Fall sports (volleyball, cross country, and football) meetings and practices for students occur during the first full week of school. These meetings are held after school for students only and last less than 30 minutes. Specific days for the meetings will be sent out in the weeks approaching school. Physicals are not required to participate in sports at the junior high level.

Please know that students/parents do not need to sign up for any of the OGJH co-curricular offerings (athletics, performing arts, clubs, etc.) prior to the school year starting. Information will be provided through email communication when sign-ups occur during the school year.*

*The only exception to this would be band, choir, or orchestra class. Sign-ups for these classes occurred during the online enrollment process.
