Welcome back to St. Katharine Drexel Elementary! We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and high spirits. As the summer comes to a close, we are excited to embark on another enriching and successful school year together.

We want to extend a warm welcome to both our returning families and those who are new to our school community. We believe that a strong partnership between parents, teachers, and students is essential for the growth and success of each child. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that nurtures the development of the full child: body, mind, and spirit.

At St. Katharine Drexel Elementary, our dedicated staff are passionate about providing a well-rounded education that inspires and challenges our students. Our curriculum is designed to meet the highest standards of academic achievement while promoting critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning. We strive to cultivate a positive school culture that emphasizes respect, responsibility, and integrity.

We understand that open and effective communication is key to a successful school-parent partnership. St. Katharine Drexel is a great place for families! We have a community who share a common belief in Christian values brought together for the common purpose of educating children in a Christ-filled environment. Thank you in advance for being actively involved with your child’s education. Working together, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished.

2025-2026 Back-to-School Information (MUST READ)

Our school lunch program will begin on Wednesday, August 20th. Please be sure to have your student's lunch account funded.  This can be done by:

1. Paying online with MySchoolBucks. Log in or create your free account today by visiting MySchoolBucks.com or downloading the mobile app. With MySchoolBucks, you’ll also be able to view your student’s cafeteria purchases, receive low balance alerts, and set up AutoPay to automatically fund your account when balances are low.

2. Send a check with your child to the school office. Please label the envelope “Student Name Lunch Money”. 

As always, we encourage you to complete a Free and Reduced Application if you need financial assistance. The Free and Reduced applications will be accepted at any time throughout the school year though we would prefer to have those applications submitted to nalbro@ogknights.org or the school office by August 18th to ensure it will be processed before your first day back to school.

Preschool and Kindergarten Information

In an effort to help keep our returning PS/K students and their families connected with one another, along with welcoming the several new PS/K students and families joining SKD, please mark your calendars for “Popsicles at the Playground’. 
Final Date: August 5th at 11:30am
*In the event of inclement weather, the gathering for that day will be canceled.
