The PES Sisters spent time with our fourth grade students teaching them how to grow in friendship with Jesus through prayer. They explored what prayer is and why we pray, helping students understand that prayer is simply talking and listening to God. Students participated in hands-on prayer experiences, including a Praise Wall, a forgiveness station for saying sorry, giving thanks to God, offering intercessions for others, bringing their own needs to Jesus, and spending quiet time in Adoration. It was a beautiful opportunity for our students to deepen their relationship with Christ.

Smartphone/Social Media Safety |
Research continues to show that early access to smartphones and social media can impact students’ sleep, focus, mental health, and peer relationships. More on this can be heard in this video that not only shares the negative impacts of early phone access, but also gives information about the Wait Until 8th campaign, a growing movement that encourages families to delay giving children smartphones until at least the end of 8th grade.
The goal of the campaign is not to judge or pressure families, but to support parents who wish to wait by creating strength in numbers. When families commit together, it becomes easier for children to feel confident about waiting. More information about the campaign will be shared at the March SFO meeting. |
