St. Michael School has always been blessed with wonderful teachers! We are happy to welcome some new faces to our staff next year:

Mr. Thomas Madigan (current Technology teacher), Mrs. Tammy Richards (current Orchestra teacher), and Mr. Zach DeBoer (current Art teacher) will all be teaching at different schools in the OG System. Mrs. Shelly Ziebell, after 37 years of teaching, will be retiring in May. We look forward to celebrating her retirement, and everyone moving on from St. Michael, at the end of the year! 

 We are looking for volunteers to spend the afternoon with us on Specialty Day, April 17th! Specialty Day is an afternoon spent with community and parent volunteers who share their time and talents with our students.  First-sixth grade students will attend four 20-minute sessions of their choosing, while preschool and kindergarten students. Please complete this Specialty Day Volunteer Sign Up Form if you want to donate your time, contribute to projects, or share a specialty presentation in support of the day! Our St. Patrick’s Day Bingo Party is still planned for this Sunday from 4:00–5:30. If weather conditions require us to cancel, a decision will be made and communicated on Sunday morning.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help supervise or donate items for the event. If you signed up to bring cakes or snacks, please remember to bring them with you on Sunday. Also, don’t forget that used uniform pieces will be available for purchase during the event.

If the event does need to be canceled due to weather, Bingo and Cakewalk parties will instead be held in classrooms on St. Patrick’s Day so our students can still enjoy the fun! 

The Bishop O’Gorman Hope Squads are collecting items to assemble hygiene kits for local veterans in need. We invite our school families to support this effort by donating travel-size, personal care items like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, combs or brushes, hair ties, lip balm, socks, and foot powder.

Please send your donations to school this week! 

Another year of Lego Club will be wrapping up in the next couple of weeks:

March 24th: Last Day for 3rd-6th
March 31st: Last Day for K-2nd

Keep collecting those pop tabs! While classrooms are having a friendly competition with one another in the building, our school is competing against other schools in the POP TAB PANDEMONIUM CHALLENGE. 

St. Michael School is currently in 3rd place and the last day to donate is Monday, April 27th.
