St. Mary Playground Update |
π Ground Breaking of the St. Mary Playground! π
|
Since opening its doors in 1949, St. Mary School has been forming students in faith and learning for 77 years.. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school, parish, and community supporters, we are excited to begin Phase 1 and Phase 2 of this transformational project.
β
Phase 1: New perimeter fence and turf play area β
Phase 2: New swing set for our students
While construction is beginning, our work is not finished. We continue to raise funds for Phase 3, which will include a new climbing structure that will provide even more opportunities for fun, adventure, and active play for generations of St. Mary students.
This groundbreaking represents much more than dirt being movedβit is an investment in our children, our school, and our future.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, volunteered, prayed, and supported this project. We can't wait to watch our students enjoy this new space!

Phase 1 of our Playground Project continues to move forward! This phase includes the installation of the new perimeter fence, turf, relocation of the existing basketball hoops and Gaga Pit from the Upper Playground to the new Lower Playground, and utility improvements to create a safer play environment.
The contracts for Phase 1 have been reviewed and signed, and all materials have been ordered. Installation of the new perimeter fence is nearly complete, with only the cantilever gates remaining. We have also been working diligently with Xcel Energy and local cable providers to coordinate the removal of the existing utility pole and the burial of overhead utility lines. While this work has taken longer than originally anticipated, it is a critical step in creating a safe and secure playground for our students.
Because of these utility-related delays, the installation of the turf and the relocation of the basketball hoops may extend beyond the first day of school. We are hopeful that Phase 1 will be completed in early September and will continue to provide updates as the project progresses. |
Phase 2 includes the installation of a new shaded 8-person swing set, providing another exciting play opportunity for our students.
The contracts for Phase 2 have also been reviewed and signed, and all materials have been ordered. While construction has not yet begun, everything is in place to move forward once scheduling and site coordination are finalized. Phase 2 may extend beyond the first day of school. We are hopeful that Phase 2 will be completed in early September and will continue to provide updates as the project progresses. |
